Ferrari Wine Company
The Ferrari Agricultural Company was established in 1955 in the province of Pavia, precisely at the southern border of the Lombardy region, in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese, which boasts approximately 12,000 hectares of vineyards. The diverse soils are composed of marls, sandy limestones, and gypsum, as well as sand and clay. All these characteristics make Oltrepò Pavese an area suited for the production of Pinot Noir (almost 3,000 hectares of vineyards) and sparkling wines obtained from this noble grape. Other key varieties in the history of this territory are Riesling and Croatina; with the latter, the most important wine of the region is produced: Bonarda. The Oltrepò territory is crossed by the 45th parallel north, the famous “wine parallel” that runs through the most suitable areas for viticulture.
The desire of the two brothers, Dario and Alberto, is to continue the path started by their grandparents and their father Paolo, and to try to bring new ideas to the company—which today has a production of over 80,000 bottles and a vineyard area of 10 hectares—in terms of image, production, and especially quality. After obtaining a degree in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies with a focus on viticulture and enology, in 2017, Alex Ferrari became the company’s enologist, overseeing all stages from crushing to bottling. The love for nature, the vine, and good drinking has been passed down for over sixty years

Pietra dè giorgi
The Ferrari company is located in Pietra de’ Giorgi (Coordinates 45°04′N 9°16′E) at an altitude of 311 meters above sea level, a small village of only 862 inhabitants spread across various hamlets. The Ferrari company is situated in a secluded hamlet called Casa Bernazzi, from which one can admire the Castello di Preda, one of the oldest in Oltrepò Pavese, dating back to 1012. Surrounded not only by the colors and scents of the vineyards, one can also observe the presence of farmyard animals and, in the surrounding wooded areas, wild boars, roe deer, and fallow deer silently refreshing themselves with the sulfurous water that constantly flows from the spring owned by the company.
